Summary:

He said he would neither resign form SAD nor from SGPC but would continue to serve panth while remaining with both the institutions. He said discarding Panthic agenda and pardoning Gurmeet were two suicidal decisions of SAD. It had dented the image of SAD, SGPC and Akal Takht and resulted in poor performance of SAD in last assembly elections.Talking to TOI later, Manjit said there were several reasons due to which he had not taken any name so far. He said the persons whose names had figured with these incidents directly or indirectly should take the moral responsibility and tender an apology at the Akal Takht. The Akali leader, however, did not give any names, as to who should apologize. Sources said Akali leaders close to the Badals had “managed” to persuade him against holding a press meet.“If the then government had taken adequate action and got to the bottom of incidents of sacrilege, the situation would have been much different in Punjab now,” said Manjit..
