BATHINDA:The special investigation team ( SIT ) formed by the Punjab government to probe the police firing at Kotkapura Chowk and Behbal Kalan in October 2015, recorded the statements of over 20 eyewitnesses on Tuesday at the local police station in Bargari in Faridkot district.The SIT team members, including SSP Satinder Singh and Bhupinder Singh, will remain in Bargari till Wednesday to record the statements of eyewitnesses. The SIT was set up on September 10, after discussion on the inquiry commission’s report in the state assembly. He said, “After this some other SIT will be formed as already the statements of the eyewitnesses have been recorded along with the affidavits and what was the need to record the statements again.”Led by the ADGP Prabodh Kumar, the SIT includes IG Arunpal Singh, Kapurthala SSP Singh, and PRTC commandant Bhupinder Singh. It entrusted with probe into four criminal cases related to sacrilege and police firing incidents.
