BSF man from Maharashtra held for sharing vital info with Pakistan

FEROZPUR: A constable in Border Security Force (BSF), working as operator, was arrested for passing secret and sensitive information to a Pakistan intelligence operative. The arrest was made on the complaint of Raj Kumar, deputy commandant, 29 Battalion of BSF, Mamdot, under Ferozepur sector, on Saturday.The police have registered a case under Official Secret Act 1923 and National Security Act 1980 against the constable identified as Sheikh Riazudin alias Riaz, a resident of Renapur village in Latur district in Maharashtra.According to BSF officials, Riazudin has admitted to passing on secret and sensitive information and photographs pertaining to vital installations and locations of the BSF like fencing, roads and contact numbers of unit officials, contact numbers of the units and classified information of BSF organization to Pakistan intelligence operative Mirza Faisal through Facebook Messenger When contacted, Ranjit Singh, SHO, Mamdot police station said the arrested constable would be produced in the court after the preliminary investigations..
