Another trader Sharandeep Singh said despite having paid the 200% hike in customs duty, officials have refused to release their goods. After February 16 notification of hike in customs duty, there was no truck movement. Truck driver Amarjit Singh said they were the first ones to bear the brunt of restrictions on cross-border trade. “We are as patriotic as anyone else and don’t mind losing our work for the sake of our country. “But we do hope that our government comes to our rescue and rehabilitation if the situation persists for long,” he said.The ICP has over 100 small time restaurants, tea, paan and other shops around it..
