The accused driver, an employee of an outsourced firm hired by Punjab Bus Metro Society, has been identified as Dilsher Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran. Baljit Singh, General Manager of BRTS depot, in his complaint to the Sultanwind police station said the accused was the driver of bus plying between Golden Gate to Attari Gate. On 11.15 am the accused parked the bus on sideline near Golden Gate and kept the engine start.
