The state government had increased the intrastate e-way bill limit for goods from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh for an year. Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal president Piara Lal Seth said the government allowed the e-way bill limit to continue on certain commodities, including iron, non-furnace metals, wood, cement, plastic granules, yarn and edible oil. He said the e-way bill process consumed a long time and in case of snag and server down, delay is unpredictable. “For goods worth Rs 50,000, the process is cumbersome as over the years inflation has made possible many merchandise worth Rs 50,000 to carry even in bags,” he added..
