Masti’s body was found in an abandoned car in Ghaziabad area in November last year. Masti, along with Angrej Singh, Shubham Singh and his other accomplices, had been on run after committing a heist at a jewellery house in Guru Bazaar area in mid-September in 2018. Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (detective), said the interrogation of Angrej Singh had led the police to suspect that he had murdered Masti. He is a member of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and is wanted by the police in multiple murder cases, besides five bank dacoity cases..
