Experts, who delivered lectures during the inauguration of the capacity-building programme, were unanimous that the breakdown of the joint family system, rapid urbanisation and commercialisation of society were some of the main reasons behind a large number of youths taking drugs. It is aimed at training those teachers who teach in government schools of the district. Assistant Commissioner (General) Anamjot Kaur said there were many reasons responsible for youths taking intoxicants. The government can save the country from external attacks, but not those youngsters who are unable to quit drugs.
