Couple suicide: Family alleges police inaction

Had the police acted on the complaint, the couple would have been alive today, said family members of the couple here on Saturday. Sunil Kumar and his wife Monika, a government ITI teacher, had committed suicide on October 16 at their residence at Fairland colony on the Fatehgarh Churian road here. The incident came to light when Sunil’s son Sahil knocked at the door of the roon in which the couple were sleeping, but got no response. Those booked were identified as Gurwinder Singh, his wife Rashpal Kaur, Navneet Singh, Thomas, Babbar and Harjinder Singh. Jaspal Singh, SHO Majitha Road police station, said no arrest had been made as the investigation was under progress..
