Bus carrying Sikh pilgrims from Canada reaches city

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, November 17A special bus, carrying Sikh pilgrims from Canada, today reached India through the Attari-Wagah joint checkpost after attending programmes organised in connection with the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak in Pakistan. The bus had started its journey from the city of Brampton in Canada on September 3. Pilgrims, led by Gurcharan Singh Banwait, were welcomed by SGPC additional manager Rajinder Singh at the border. It has been learnt that the special bus was arranged to attend the gurpurb celebrations. It covered a distance of approximately 21,000 km, passing through London, France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Turkey and Iran, before reaching Kartarpur..
