The incident occurred on Wednesday while a case was registered on Saturday after the victim was fit for giving his statement. Among those booked were identified as Harjit Singh, German Singh and Malkeet Singh, all residents of Nangal village in Ajnala, besides five unknown persons. He said instead of stopping, Harjit Singh hit a datar on his head while German Singh and Malkeet stabbed him with some sharp weapon. Sub-Inspector Nishan Singh said the police had registered a case for murder bid and causing grievous hurt against the suspects while raids were on to nab them..
