Barnala farmer with amputated arm and leg joins protest against Agriculture Bill 2020

Nirmal Singh a farmer by profession is a regular at any protest at for the rights of farmers, with passing of agriculture bill by Indian government Nirmal stated that farmers feel betrayed.

He decided to remain at the forefront of the struggle against the bill.

Unlike other farmers, Nirmal has an amputated arm and a leg, both on the right side.

He has prosthetic leg and recently lost his right arm four months back while cutting fodder.

He is active member of farm organization BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) for the past 15 years when he lost his leg in an accident while he was driving a truck.

Nirmal (55) had to mortgage acres of land due to debt and now is left with only half an acre.

He stated ‘’we had two and a half acre land along with tilling the land I used to occasionally drive trucks to supplement the living.

I met with an accident while driving the truck and lost my right leg.
