Tribune News ServiceAmritsar May 9On the day when Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa visited the Amritsar Central Jail to supervise the arrangements made in view of the rising cases of Covid-19 the jail authorities confiscated as many as seven mobile phones and 10 packs of cigarettes here on Saturday. Of the seven mobile phones recovered six were found hidden in the bathroom of a cell and one was found from a prisoner identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi. Four of them belonged to four gangsters lodged in the jail complex. They were Gurjant Singh alias Bhollu Manoj Kumar Vikramjit alias Vicky aka World and Pankaj Kumar aka Panku. The police said further investigation was under way to ascertain how the prohibited material was sneaked inside the jail complex..
