Activists slam water shortage in city

Every now and then, the water supplied to the residential areas is turbid.Owing to this situation, many families have to plan their schedule according to the water supply timing. "We have to collect and store the drinking water in containers to sustain for another three or four days until the we receive the next water supply. Aurangabad: A group of civic activists has demanded that the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) regularise water supply in the city.According to the activists, the citizens pay an annual fee of Rs 4,050 as water bill on an average, but receive only 100 days of water supply through a half-inch tap.The activists said that other municipal bodies like that in Pune and Thane are charge much lesser amount and provide water supply twice a day daily.Incidentally, the residents of the city get water supply on alternate days.
