World Health Day: district health department pledges ‘healthcare for all’

AURANGABAD: Hailing the efforts of ASHA and health workers, towards ensuring quality health care to all, Zilla Parishad president Devyani Dongaonkar assured to address the various concerns of sub-district health centres including provision of material needs in order to ensure universal health coverage.Dongaonkar was speaking at annual Anandibai Joshi award ceremony organised by the district health department to recognise the work of primary health centres, sub-district health centres and health workers in implementing various government schemes on Tuesday at Mehsul Prabodhini. Primary health centre (PHC) Ganori came first in PHC category and claimed Rs 25,000. Ellora PHC, Aamthana PHC stood second and third respectively and won Rs 15,000 and 10,000.In the best transformation award, Kachner PHC stood first and claimed Rs 2 lakh. Kandewad said, “The Aurangabad division has achieved a significant progress in reduction of the infant mortality rate (IMR) and maternal mortality rate (MMR).”He also appealed to the health workers to ensure consistency towards implementing health-related schemes. PHCs at Jategaon, Ellora, Pimpalwadi, Vadodabazar and Babra got consolation prize and won Rs 50,000 each.Health officers GM Kudalikar, MM Ghodke, Jayshri Lahane, PA Brahmakar, Shaikh Shakeel Ahmed claimed the district-level officer certificate..
