Rain returns to city, brings mercury down; more showers likely today

Aurangabad registered a maximum temperature of 25.2 degrees celsius and a minimum of 21.4 degrees celsius on Monday. The revival of monsoon has brought down the mercury level in the city considerably. Aurangabad: As predicted by the met department, city and nearby areas witnessed good showers after a considerable gap with Aurangabad recording 38mm rainfall by 8.30pm on Monday.The overcast conditions prevailed over the city till late afternoon before a spell of heavy rain started around 4pm. Many low lying areas in Pundlik Nagar and Mukunwadi areas experienced waterlogging, while busy roads witnessed traffic jams for a brief period. The downpour lasted for almost an hour and thereafter light to medium showers continued to lash many parts of the city till Monday night.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain over Aurangabad on Tuesday also, followed by possibility of intermittent rain during the subsequent 48 hours..
