Taking social issues into consideration, ladies of Vaishnavi group in Aurangabad celebrated mangal gauri. The women played jhimma (clap dance), fugadi (going round by joining hands) and bhendya (antakshari songs) till wee hours of the day. Mangala gauri is one of the important celebrations for new brides in Maharashtrian culture . Young ladies gave modern touch to their poems. However, the ladies of the group took up social issues through their games and music.The ladies included dancing, played games and took up topics like save water, female infanticide, cleanliness and many others through poetry..
