AMC discusses smart city projects with citizens

Aurangabad: The Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) and industry initiative, Aurangabad First, jointly organized a daylong workshop titled Manthan at the MGM campus on Saturday. As part of the Smart City Mission, Aurangabad proposes to be a citizen friendly and socially inclusive tourism, heritage and industrial city with world-class infrastructure and a safe environment. The workshop saw discussions on various projects to be undertaken under the Smart City Mission and continued till late on Saturday evening.ASCDCL is the special purpose vehicle established for the implementation of the smart city projects and Aurangabad First is an initiative of the Marathwada Environment Care Cluster (MECC), formed by industry associations. Following the separate workshops, experts from various fields who had been called from outside the city, made presentations to the combined audience at Rukmini Hall in MGM. Individuals and NGOs working in the respective areas, students, enthusiasts and press representatives took part in the workshop and offered their suggestions.As part of the first smart city initiative, the city will get as many as 50 buses for public transport by the end of this year..
