First delivery at civil hospital, casualty ward to open soon

Aurangabad: The district civil hospital in Chikalthana, run by the public health department, registered its first delivery on Saturday.On Tuesday, the hospital opened its 40-bed maternity ward to the public and after 4 days the hospital registered the delivery of a baby at 7.40pm. The district civil surgeon took charge of the hospital last November following which all the posts were filled. Sundar Kulkarni, district civil surgeon, said that the hospital will soon begin performing surgeries and C-sections.“The hospital is yet to be registered but we have started the operations in phases on the directives of the district minister. Situated on the Jalna Road, which witnesses large number of road accidents, the hospital is expected to reduce the casualty load of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Gynecologist Trupti Sanap supervised the delivery.The hospital is equipped with 6 labour tables and 2 operation tables..
