Summary:

Aurangabad: The standing committee of the civic administration upheld the decision to install nine decentralised waste processing units at various locations across the city on Monday. Being the first mechanical waste processing plant, the unit was expected to help the city tide over the waste crisis. However, the decision is yet to receive an endorsement from AMC.Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had looped in Nagpur-based ‘Waste Bin’ to install and operate decentralised waste processing units with a capacity of 16 tonnes per day (TPD). “The decision to set up six additional units will be taken based on the performance of the first three units,” said Bhombe. The bailing machine used for compressing dry waste also fails to serve the purpose as the dry waste is mixed with organic waste,” said Waste Bin’s Prashant Chendke..
