Aurangabad: With the South Central Railway (SCR) top-brass scheduled to visit Aurangabad on Wednesday, the railway activists have raised the demand for DEMU train from Jalna to Manmad and construction of the pit line at Chikalthana.Improving rail connectivity to Mumbai and executing re-development of Aurangabad station are some of the key demands raised by the activists.Railway activist Raj Somani said DEMU train between Jalna and Manmad stations would be immensely beneficial for passengers from Marathwada.“The DEMU train will not only be a hit among passengers, but would also draw huge revenue for the SCR. It makes no sense as huge amount of money is being spent on other less important works such as colouring and cosmetic changes, especially during any high profile visit.” Somani said.Pit line, which boosts the ability of a station to handle trains, is basically a facility for carrying out inspection and routine maintenance work of carriage parts of the railway..
