Latur edu institute pays Rs 1cr for illegal 4-storey bldg

The collector issued a letter to the Latur municipal commissioner regarding the allegations. The case is still pending in the Latur district and sessions court and the police have provided round-the-clock security to Bhaikatti since then. The institution had the permission to raise the structure up to plinth level. However, it constructed the four-storey building without permission and had shifted the junior college (science) to the new premises without following due procedures.Recently, Bhaikatti had approached Latur district collector G Sreekant and the president of the anti-corruption committee regarding the alleged irregularities. The commissioner recently sent a communication to the collector and Bhaikatti informing them about the developments.It said that the Shahu College, taking a cue from the October 2017 government resolution regarding regularization of unauthorized constructions carried out before 2015, had approached the Latur civic body and offered to pay the dues, including the fine to regularize its junior college building..
