3 candidates challenge steno recruitment process in HC

Aurangabad: A group of candidates has moved Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court, alleging malpractices in selection of some candidates for court stenographer recruitment exams held recently.The three candidates — passed all the tests and were even called for an interview but were not selected in final list — have filed a writ petition before the HC stating that four candidates who were disqualified in English test and also were not called for the interviews have made it to the merit list comprising 12 candidates in Nanded.Taking note of the same, the division bench of HC has issued notices to the state, Bombay high court registrar (administration), district court (Nanded) through its registrar, district court recruitment committee through principal district judge (Nanded) and the four candidates, returnable on January 15.The bench, comprising justices B R Gavai and Riyaz Chagla, stated: “By the way of ad-interim order, we direct that the appointments if any, shall be subject to the result of the petition.”The Bombay HC in March this year published advertisements on its official website for filling of various post of stenographers (Lower Grade), clerks, peon/hamal at establishments of various districts at Maharashtra.The recruitment specified particular number of post for each category, including 26 posts at Nanded district for post of stenographers (LG)..
