NGO protests against poor road construction

The divisional commissioner on December 19 wrote to the chief engineer PWD (National Highway) asking the official to take necessary action in the matter.According to the NGO, no inquiry has been conducted so far. Potholes have already started to emerge at many places.Mohammed Zaker, president of Janhith Sanghatna, said, “Every day, one or two accidents take place due to the poor road condition. “We demand that enquiry be initiated in the project, payment of the contractor be withheld and criminal action be taken against the guilty engineer,” Imran Khan, executive president of the NGO, said. Certain officials of PWD and the contractor are hand-in-glove in the substandard work of the road,” he said.The NGO had met the divisional commissioner on December 18, 2018 and submitted a memorandum with the same allegations and had asked for an enquiry into the case..
