Crime branch sleuth, family booked for assaulting elderly man

AURANGABAD: The city police have booked a serving crime branch sleuth and seven members of his family on the charges of assaulting a 72-year old Bhikarchand Kundlekar over an old enmity.The case has been registered against the sleuth at the Begumpura police station and the entire family has been slapped with the charges of voluntarily causing hurt, unlawful assembly and rioting.As per the complaint, the suspect along with his family members barged into his house situated in Dhimbar Galli, Begumpura on Saturday and assaulted him, his wife and daughter.A police officer said that as the complaint was against a serving crime branch sleuth, opinion was sought from the senior police officers before registering an offence and accordingly a case against all the suspects was registered..
