The dam, which was filled to nearly 89% of live storage by 6pm on Wednesday, was receiving inflows at the speed of 41,376 Cusec till late evening. The authorities have already cautioned that the swelled dam could witness release of water at any moment due to increased live storage. According to irrigation department authorities, the dam has witnessed increase in inflows from Nandur-Madhameshwar Weir (10,000 Cusec) and Nagamthan River Gauging Station (18,930 Cusec) by 7pm. Rescue teams also saved a girl from drowning after she fell in nullah near Mukundwadi area.Noor Colony, Jai Bhavani Nagar, Mukundwadi and Dalalwadi were among the areas where gushing rainwater entered into houses.
