After 2 decades, rubber factory employees get full PF

Bareilly: Union minister Santosh Gangwar distributed cheques totalling Rs 2.48 crore to 1,109 employees of Synthetic Chemical Limited commonly known as the abandoned rubber factory as part of their pending provident fund. With this round of payment, these employees have received their full provident fund. The owners had assured employees that they would resume operations soon but it never happened.Employees were happy to get their provident fund as they had lost all hope of getting it. However, they are yet to get their gratuity and salary for four years.The factory, 30 km from Bareilly city, had suddenly shut operations in December 1999. He had distributed part of the pending dues in cheques earlier as well.After receiving his cheque, Govind Mishra, 75, said, “It took almost two decades to get our hard earned money back but I am happy receiving a cheque of Rs 50,000..
