Pilibhit: A 45-year-old Dalit man was allegedly bludgeoned to death by seven men at a village under Bilsanda police station in Pilibhit district on Friday night when he tried to prevent the abduction of his niece. The police have arrested Subhash, one of the seven booked accused who is also the younger brother of Ram Niwas, while others are on a run. The men attempted to abduct Shiv Kumar’s niece, daughter of his brother Kamlesh Kumar. SHO Tyagi said, “An FIR has been lodged against all seven accused under sections 302 (murder), 147 (rioting) and 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons) of IPC and a section of the SC/ST Act.
