226 found infected with both PF and PV malaria

Even both PF and plasmodium vivax (PV) have been found in 226 persons and the presence of both infections make it deadly. Bareilly: With 524 fresh cases of killer plasmodium falciparum (PF) reported in Bareilly on Monday, the total figure has reached 2,465 in the district. Besides, as 1,408 persons were detected with PV on Monday, the cumulative figure stands at 5,295.Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Vineet Shukla said, “During tests, it was found that 236 persons have both PF and PV malaria infections. Besides, the health department has sprayed larvicidal in 888 villages and fogged 150 villages. The treatment is the same as in PF malaria cases.”Of the 524 PF cases reported on Monday, the maximum 294 were reported in Majhgavan, followed by Bhamora 99.As the PF cases are on the rise, the health department said they have sufficient medicines and Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits to confirm malaria cases.CMO said, “The state government supplied medicines to Bareilly after it was airlifted from Tamil Nadu few days ago..
