After 3 crocs run over by vehicles, forest dept declares Nighasan-Dhakerwa state highway as ‘crocodile sensitive area’

Shahjahanpur: After three crocodiles were run over by vehicles in Lakhimpur Kheri district, the forest department has marked Nighasan- Dhakerwa state highway as a ‘crocodile sensitive area’ and have installed signboards on the stretch to attract the attention of commuters to drive carefully. It would also help in keeping an eye on poachers and timber mafias,” said Arjun Singh, a local resident. During monsoon, several river streams are formed and crocodiles move out of the main river through these streams.
