Now, killer plasmodium falciparum malaria detected in Rampur

RAMPUR: After Bareilly and Badaun districts, now a killer plasmodium falciparum (PF) malaria case has been detected in Khatanagaliya village under Milak thesil of Rampur district.After a minor girl was found infected with PF, the administration has sounded alert in the district.Speaking with TOI Rampur chief medical officer (CMO) Subodh Sharma said, “After a minor girl was found suffering from PF malaria, we started larvicidal spray and fogging in Khatanagaliya and neighbouring villages. Besides, slides of other fever patients have also been sent for lab test.”According to CMO, the girl has been shifted to Barielly district hospital, and she is out of danger.CMO said, “The health department has been carrying out larvicidal spray and fogging in border villages of Barielly and Badaun districts.”.
