Avas Vikas clerk held for accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 in Moradabad

Moradabad: A clerk at Uttar Pradesh Avas Vikas Parishad was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a woman in lieu of providing her a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.The clerk identified as Subhash Chandra Maurya was arrested on Wednesday by a team of anti-corruption sleuths at the Avas Vikas office.SHO, Majhola police station,Vikas Saxena, said, “The accused demanded bribe from a woman identified as Gyan Devi to provide her a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana following which she filed a complaint with the ACB.”“After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused was caught in his office red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000,” he said.A case has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act..
