Summary:

Shahjahanpur: Yatish Chandra Shukla, 35, a former lecturer from Lakhimpur Kheri, entered the record books on Wednesday for giving the world’s longest speech after he spoke without faltering for 100 hours. Shukla beat the current world record held by Santa Ram who had delivered a speech for 90 hours and 2 minutes in Kathmandu from August 27 to August 31 last year.As if surpassing the current record wasn’t enough, Shukla has his eyes set on setting a new “unbeatable” record. His lecture lasted 148 hours, 14 minutes and 33 seconds. He is still speaking and plans to stop only after notching over 110 hours. While Shukla’s feat has won him a certificate from Golden Book of Records, the journey to Guinness Book Of World Records will take time due to a lengthy verification process. A Guinness team has monitored the event online..
