12-yr-old falls from terrace fleeing from monkeys, dies

Chased by a troop of simians on Friday, she along with five others tried to run for cover when the rickety railing of the terrace gave way and they fell down on the ground below. “However, 12-year-old Umam, daughter of Aslam, succumbed to injuries on Saturday,” said Singh.The other children who sustained injuries have been identified as Umam’s younger sister Misba, 10, Mehraaz’s daughter Hinno, 5, and siblings Zikra, 6 and Altamas. All were admitted to hospital, where the girl died.The incident took place in Sehswan area of Badaun.According to police, Mehraaz, 28, along with five children of the neighbourhood were sitting on the terrace of her house, enjoying the winter sun when a tribe of aggressive monkeys arrived suddenly..
