Pilibhit: Carcass of a female leopard, around five-year-old, was recovered from Hardoi feeder canal of river Sharda near village Danga under Madhotanda police station on Wednesday afternoon. The carcass was first seen by some boys who were taking a bath in the canal. The forest officials reached the spot after being informed by the locals.This is the eighth case of leopard death in and around Pilibhit Tiger Reserve since March 2018 and fourth case of recovery of leopard carcass near village Danga.“Carcass has been kept in deep freezer. Probable reason of leopard death and other details would be disclosed in the autopsy report,” he added.PTR has so far witnessed death of 15 tigers and four leopards in and around PTR since 2012.
