The candidates, all of who are Muslims, are contesting from minority-dominated wards. Likewise, they have decided to name the flyover near the Alakhnath temple as ‘Hazrat Shah Niyaz Beniyaz Shri Alakhnath’. However, I am working to ensure victory of other deserving independent candidates from other wards too.”Sabir Khan, another candidate from ward number 11 (Katra Chand Khan), said, “I had contested for the corporator’s post in 2006 with a Congress ticket but lost.
