BENGALURU: With the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) deciding to ground the Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes in India, several SpiceJet services in and out of the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru have been affected.With SpiceJet grounding the 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 airplanes in its fleet, services to and from Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata and Hyderabad were affected.“Dear SpiceJet customer; Due to grounding of Boeing 737 MAX 8 as per regulatory directive, your flight SG 929 dated 17 Mar 2019 has been cancelled. "A majority of passengers affected as a result of these cancellations have been accommodated by SpiceJet on alternate flights. Complying with the DGCA directive, SpiceJet has grounded its entire B737 Max fleet. We are evaluating options for augmenting capacity in the coming days through a mix of additional flights & aircraft inductions. We are sure that our operations will be normal very soon..
