317 powermen and engineers from Bangalore restore power supply in over 14,000 Fani affected homes in Odisha

BENGALURU: A total of 317 powermen and engineers from Bangalore Electricity Supply Company ( Bescom ) have restored power supply to over 14,000 consumers spread across villages in Odisha , said officials on Tuesday.

They recently travelled to Bhubaneswar to provide assistance in repairing and restoring electric utilities damaged during Cyclone Fani The team is leaving Bhubaneswar on Wednesday and will arrive in Bengaluru the next day.

"In some locations, which were difficult to access by road, our men carried the poles themselves," said Venkatesh Kumar, chief general manager (operations), Bescom, and nodal officer for the work.
