CM Yediyurappa meets PM Modi in New Delhi; urges to release NDRF funds

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman, individually, to discuss various developmental issues pertaining to the State.

According to the CMO, Yediyurappa urged PM Modi to expedite the release of funds from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).

He also requested the PM to revise the items and norms of assistance from State Disaster Response Fund or National Disaster Response Fund for the current year itself to ensure timely and adequate financial assistance to the distressed people.

Reportedly, Yediyurappa also expressed his desire that the Centre should declare the Upper Krishna Project Stage-III and Upper Bhadra Project as National Projects.

He added that early approvals and clearances for irrigation and drinking water projects including Mekedatu and Kalasa Banduri Nala would help in utilising water resources allocated to the State.
