Covid-19 update: Karnataka reported 6,297 new cases on Tuesday

Karnataka reported 6,297 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the state’s overall infection tally to 7,76,901.

The state also reported 66 more virus related deaths, taking the state’s death toll to 10,608.

Meanwhile, 8,500 patients were discharged after treatment on Tuesday, bringing the total discharge tally to 6,62,329.

State reported 1,03,945 active cases with 1,03,004 patients are in isolation at designated hospitals and are stable, while 941 are in ICU.

Meanwhile, 2821 more cases were confirmed in Bengaluru which also has the highest number of active cases to date (64,523).

Other districts that reported the most cases on October 20 were Mysuru (451), Tumkur (327), Bengaluru Rural (319), and Davanagere (206).

As many as 36 of the 66 deaths reported on Tuesday are from Bengaluru Urban, followed by Dakshina Kannada and Kolar (4), Chamarajanagar (3), Bengaluru Rural, Hassan, Haveri, Mysuru and Shivamogga  (2) and Bagalkote, Ballari, Dharwad, Raichur, Ramanagara, Tumakuru, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Vijayapura (1).
