Over 20 people suffer side effects of COVID vaccine in Bengaluru

Minor AEFIs including giddiness, fever, chills, and pain at the site of injection were recorded.

Manoranjan Hegde, health officer, west zone told The New Indian Express, “The beneficiaries did not require hospitalisation and needed observation.

Medicines were given to those with fever and chills but not to those with giddiness.”

The other zone in Bengaluru with AEFI was the south zone.

This is not an AEFI and might have happened because of pain or anxiety.

Shivakumar, health officer, south zone said, “She was fine after a few seconds and did not need medicines.”

52% of the targeted recipients were provided the vaccine in Bengaluru yesterday, until 8:30 pm.
