more-inThe State police on Thursday informed the Karnataka High Court that they take all reasonable steps to find slaughter houses which are operating illegally and immediate steps to prevent their continuance. Justice Aravind Kumar adjourned further hearing as the counsel submitted that the Advocate-General would address the points raised in the petition as well as the concerns expressed by the court about violation of various laws related to protection of cattle and prevention of cruelty to animals. The submission was made by a government counsel during the hearing of a petition, filed by Kavitha Jain and by Gau Gyan Foundation, complaining that Shivajinagar police had failed to adhere to directions of both the magistrate’s court as well as the High Court to take action on their complaint about cattle being kept illegally for slaughter..
