MP’s first Gokul Gram for cows to come up in Sagar

BHOPAL: In a bid to provide comfortable stay for cows, the Union government has decided to set up the state’s first Gokul Gram in Sagar district . Officials said the project is aimed at setting up integrated indigenous cattle centres or Gokul Grams in the breeding tracts of indigenous breeds. The facility includes proper housing, food and medication for cows.HBS Bhadoria, managing director of MP State Livestock and Poultry Development Corporation said that the Gokul Gram is being developed at Ratona in Sagar. The Gokul Gram will be self-sustaining and will generate funds from sale of milk, organic manure, vermi-compost, urine distillates and production of electricity from bio gas for in-house consumption and sale of animal products..
