2 suspects nabbed for poaching leopard

They were stopped and on checking an instrument used by poachers to trap leopard was recovered from their possession.They were later identified as Hameernath and his brother Ratanlal. KHARGONE: Forest officials have caught two persons with instrument used to trap wild animals and who traded in body parts of protected wild species.Khargone SDO (forest) AK Solanki told TOI that while looking for accused involved in recent killing of a female leopard, the forest team came across two suspicious persons in Dhulkot area of Bistan range. They were camping in Dhawli area under Warla police station limits of Barwani district , the SDO said.The forest team raided their place and found tail of an animal, which seemed to be of leopard, moustache hair of a boar and a body part of jackal.On Sunday, the duo was produced before CJM court of Khargone from where they were sent on judicial remand.Khargone divisional forest officer MN Trivedi told TOI that they were yet to find out whether the poachers had any link with the female leopard hunters.Solanki said that in June, 2017, a priest of Navgraha temple in Khargone was arrested for selling horns of jackal and body parts of monitor lizard.
