Summary:

His body was found almost three weeks later, in a rocky area in Sector 2, near the GCF compound in Jabalpur. “For this reason, we have sought advise from MLI,” said the SIT head. From the very first day police were suspecting that Khatua had committed suicide. They had also found a blade near the spot.Police was also in talks with the CBI officials who were investigating Khatua’s role in the alleged supply of Chinese parts in indigenised Bofors guns.Khatua went missing on January 17, exactly a week after he was questioned by CBI. Bhopal: Seeking an expert opinion on autopsy report of Jabalpur’s Gun Carriage Factory (GCF) officer Sarada Charan Khatua, the special investigation team (SIT) has now approached Medico Legal Institute (MLI) of Bhopal.Officials say they have explored all possible angles in Khatua’s death case, but still have not been able to find a clue to resolve the mystery.“Our investigations, so far, are indicating towards suicide but since autopsy surgeons have mentioned injury marks on his skull and have the opinion that he was murdered, we are sticking on the homicidal angle,” said Sanjeev Uikey, ASP heading the SIT.Autopsy surgeons were not clear in their report whether the injury on his head was anti-mortem..
