Summary:
Government of India has reintroduced Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for the month of May-June’2021. This is a pro-poor Scheme to ameliorate the hardships faced by the poor due to economic disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the scheme, Foodgrains @ 5 kg per person is given free of cost to NFSA Beneficiaries. This allocation will be in addition to the regular monthly NFSA allocation and migrant NFSA beneficiaries can use the facility of portability under ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ to avail the benefits under the said scheme. Till date, Govt of Madhya Pradesh has lifted around 20000 MT of stocks for free distribution to beneficiaries..
