Fish plate collided with Bhopal Express, accident averted

Summary:

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Railway Engineer Department and RPF squad reached the spot and the technical staff of the Railways tightened the nut-bolts and replaced the fish plate with another fish plate after an hour`s effort could be done.

Due to loosening of the bolt of the clamp of the jagged plate (fish plate) on the up track, the fish plate on the railway track came out and remained on the track.

Meanwhile, the fish plate collided with the engine of Bhopal Express coming from Delhi to Gwalior.

The loco pilot controlled the speed by applying emergency brakes and averted a major accident.

The incident has been reported to be of Rail Yard Kilometer 1244/18 near Banmore station.

According to the information received, information was received from Jhansi control last day that the rail ward located near Banmore station was on the up track.

The said fish plate has come out due to the incident near Banmore yard due to the nut-bolt loosening of the clamp on the jagged plate.

Meanwhile, the loco pilot of Bhopal Express coming from Delhi stopped the train in time after seeing the fish plate coming out.

Although the engine collided with the fish plate lying on the track, the accident was averted due to low speed.

After the information of the loco pilot was given to the control, the carriage and brinjal staff of RPF squad and railway engineering department from Gwalior reached the spot and another fish plate was installed.
