BHUBANESWAR: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Bhubaneswar branch has unearthed faunal remains of several marine animals and wild animals like rhinoceros at Bharati Huda excavation site, located at Prachi River Valley , about 50 kms from Bhubaneswar. The excavation has also thrown light on a cultural continuity from Chalcolithic to early Iron Age period at the spot. The shapes found are vase, bowls, bowl-on-stand, ring based bowls, miniature pots, storage jars, marinated pots and high necked pots. “Cultural continuity for a period of over 2000 years indicated that it was an old and prosperous civilization. These findings indicate that either the sea was closure to the site, which is now around 25 kms away..
