Resolve water dispute, Centre tells Mahanadi tribunal

BHUBANESWAR: The Centre on Monday notified a three-member tribunal chaired by Supreme Court judge A M Khanwilkar to resolve the Mahanadi water-sharing dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh. 'The Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal' will be headquartered in New Delhi. Hearing a petition of the Odisha government in December 2016, the apex court had asked the Union government to form the tribunal under the provisions of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956.
