BHUBANESWAR: Odisha is reeling under extreme heat wave conditions with highest temperature crossing 43 degree Celsius in interior areas. Mercury in the city may hover close to 40 degree Celsius, Sahu said.“Strong and gusty surface wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph likely to prevail along and off Odisha coast. Cuttack recorded 38.5 degree Celsius.After minor relief from the heat in the past two days, the state capital on Saturday again saw rise in mercury level to 39.2 degree Celsius, two degree above normal. Besides, there are chances of thunder squall activities in some pockets of coastal and adjoining pockets.
